Manchester City play Phil Foden reveals who is a better midfielder between David Silva or 33-year-old Belgium player Kevin De Bruyne

Throughout his tenure in the Manchester City first team, Phil Foden has collaborated with a diverse array of elite players.

The Englishman has appeared in 270 matches for Pep Guardiola’s team in all competitions since making his senior debut for the Citizens in 2017. He has played alongside more than 60 other players during this time.

Despite the fact that the 24-year-old is currently preoccupied with international matters with England in the 2024 European Championship, he is now compelled to choose between two of the most significant comrades with whom he has shared the pitch in a City shirt.

Of Kevin De Bruyne and David Silva, Phil Foden determines which is superior.

Foden participated in a winner-stays-on challenge on the talkSPORT TikTok channel, in which he was required to select between specific midfielders from the past and present based on his personal preference. The video was recently uploaded.

Foden stated the following when requested to select between Kevin De Bruyne and David Silva.

Silva and De Bruyne are two City legends.

Silva scored 77 goals and provided 130 assists in 436 appearances across all competitions during his 10-year tenure at City, which concluded with the Spaniard being honored with a statue outside the Etihad Stadium.

In contrast, De Bruyne has contributed 170 assists and scored 102 goals in 382 appearances.

Given that Foden has previously stated that Silva is his footballing icon, it is intuitive that he has chosen the former midfielder over his current City teammate.

Nevertheless, we believe that the Spaniard and Belgian should both be regarded as City stalwarts, given the contributions they have made to the club.

There should be no doubt that Foden will leave a legacy similar to Silva and De Bruyne if he is able to continue his path and become as influential for City.
