Manchester City player ratings vs West Ham United – as Premier League 2023/24 comes to an end
Phil Foden and Rodri scored in Manchester City’s 3-1 win over West Ham, which made them the title winners of the Premier League.
With a 3-1 win over West Ham United on the last day of the season, Manchester City became the first team in league history to win four straight titles.
Phil Foden scored the first goal for Chelsea in just 76 seconds, putting them ahead and getting the party started at the Etihad. The FWA Footballer of the Year and Premier League Player of the Season then scored his second goal inside the first 20 minutes. The first half got tense when Mohamed Kudus scored an acrobatic goal to pull one back for the home team. However, Rodri recovered the two-goal lead on the hour mark.
With the win, Pep Guardiola’s team became the first in English football history to win four titles in a row. Next week, they’ll go to Wembley to try to become the first team to win both the league and the cup. These are the scores that the players gave the game.
Ortega: Kudus made a good save in the first half, but the goal went right past him. A lookout for most of it. 7
Walker: He read the game well and won the ball back high up the field to set up the first goal. He also played good defense. 7
Dias: Kept things calm at the back and also posed a threat in the other team’s box, coming close with a shot and doing a great job of setting up Haaland for a great chance. 8
Japanese characters: Another great showing, and this time there were fewer nerves than on Tuesday. Feeling good about pushing up with Rodri. 7
Gvardiol: He did a great job of turning a problem into an attack for City’s second goal, and he kept up his great play. 8
What you’d expect from the league’s best player, Rodri said. “Another important goal to calm things down.” 8
A lot of people won’t understand how important he is to the team until he’s gone. Again, an important part of the show. 8
De Bruyne was content to let Foden play in the middle, but he was still full of energy on and off the ball and pressed high to keep City in the game. 7
Doku was the most surprise player on the team sheet, but he earned his spot by terrorizing Coufal for the second time this season and holding his own against the powerful Kudus. 8
Foden scored two great goals that put City in full charge of a very important game. It made sense that he got City through. 9
Haaland: They played well as a team, and he really wanted to score, but he missed a few good chances. 6
Yes, Ake (for 71): He earned to come off the bench because he’s been one of City’s best players this season. Could he push his way into the cup final? 7
Foden (88): Kovacic (for Foden): No time.
Carson, Stones, Lewis, Nunes, Bobb, Alvarez, and Grealish were on the bench.
