Manchester City player Rico Lewis reveals the secret conversation that occured in tunnel after the heated argument with the striker Jørgen Strand Larsen during their match against wolves

Rico Lewis has talked about what was said after he got into a fight with striker Jorgen Strand Larsen last weekend. The two had a fight during Wolves’ game against Man City.

Pep Guardiola’s team got off to a great start in 2025–26 at Molineux, where they beat a Midlands team 4-0. Tijjani Reijnders was the star of the game.

On the first weekend of the season, many of City’s stars stepped up. Lewis was one of them; the right back set up Erling Haaland’s goal to open the scoring.

This came after a good preseason for the 20-year-old, but many Man City fans were talking about the defender’s fight with Wolves star Jorgen Strand Larsen after the game.

Rico Lewis says he caused the fight between Jorgen Strand and Larsen.
When 6ft4 Larsen and 5ft7 Lewis got into a fight in the middle of the field last Saturday, it was funny to see Lewis swat Larsen’s hand away. The Man City star made it clear that he is not to be messed with, no matter what size his opponent is.

Now that the fight is over, the back can laugh about it. Speaking to the Daily Mail before City’s game against Tottenham this weekend, the 20-year-old said that his argument with Larsen began because of him.

This was the latest event in a busy few weeks for the back. Before the start of the Premier League season, Nottingham Forest were very interested in signing Lewis.

The back did great against Wolves, though, and said after the game that he wants to stay at Man City. Now, Lewis has been offered a new five-year deal.

Rico Lewis wants to play for Manchester City

Reports from the Daily Mail say that Phil Foden talked to Lewis, Oscar Bobb, James Trafford, and Nico O’Reilly before Man City’s game against Wolves. The midfielder wanted to show support for his fellow school graduates.

Lewis has said that one of his dreams for the future is for all five of them to be regulars on Man City’s team, having gone through the same process to get there.

Lewis said, “Phil came over and talked to us.” ” And said, ‘I can’t wait for when all five of us play together all the time.'” That’s the dream for the future, all of us.

“We were all raised here and went through the same thing.” It’s easy to connect with people who have been there the longest and are about the same age as you. We hope that some younger people will join us in the future as well.
