Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes break silence to deliver a clear message to his teammates in respect to their next match against Liverpool
When they play Liverpool at home in the Premier League, Manchester United will be looking to get back on track after suffering a late and disappointing loss at Chelsea.
Bruno Fernandes has made it clear that he expects his teammates at Manchester United to provide a response before the match against Liverpool that will take place on Sunday.
United will play host to the team coached by Jurgen Klopp at Old Trafford, following a last-minute loss to Chelsea that was extremely disappointing. They were only a few seconds away from claiming three points, but they ended up with little to show for their efforts at Stamford Bridge.
A double scored by Cole Palmer in the final minute of the game resulted in a 4-3 loss for the away team. Having maintained their position in sixth place, United must earn points against Liverpool in order to ensure that they will be able to participate in the Champions League the following season.
According to the current standings, the Red Devils are nine points behind Tottenham, who is in fifth position, with eight games left to play. Liverpool, on the other hand, will be resolute in their pursuit of maintaining their position at the top of the league, but they will be aware that only a victory will be significant.
Following the conclusion of the game, Fernandes made the following statement to TNT Sports: “We had the game in our hands in the last few minutes, and we gave it away.” Obviously, it is a source of frustration, and it is challenging to accept. In the final few minutes of the game, I believe that we had a solid handle on the game. We were able to hold the ball higher up, we committed some fouls, and we made some throw-ins.
Despite this, they were able to score two goals in the final minutes of the game. When we are in the corner, we need to be much more alert and aware of our surroundings. The fact that they take corners and throw-ins with lightning speed was something that we discussed prior to the game. It is important that we are aware of that and act much more quickly.
With the contest just around the corner, Fernandes anticipates a different response from the players. In an Instagram post, he remarked, “What a frustrating night! When it comes to the big game on Sunday, a major reaction is required.
Meanwhile, Alejandro Garnacho stated, “I am in a great deal of pain. Despite the fact that we provided everything we had, we were not rewarded with anything from this game. A fresh chance to demonstrate what we are capable of doing on Sunday. We can’t thank our traveling fans enough for their consistent support.
