Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes breaks silence about his feelings on working with Cristiano Ronaldo after recent transfer hint on his move to Al Nassr
In response to allegations that Cristiano Ronaldo, the captain of Manchester United, was said to be interested in playing for Al Nassr, Bruno Fernandes has already provided his candid opinion on potential teammates.
With Ronaldo hoping to win his second Euros twenty years after making his first appearance in the competition, Fernandes and Ronaldo are expected to be reunited on the field for Portugal at the 2024 European Championship, which will take place this summer.
After the conclusion of the competition, the Portuguese pair might be able to get back together at the club level. There have been stunning suggestions that Fernandes might sign with Al Nassr.
According to a story from the Daily Mirror, Ronaldo has reportedly urged Al Nassr to sign Bruno Fernandes, the captain of Manchester United, during the summer.
There is a widespread belief that they are prepared to spend any amount, ranging from approximately 80 million to 90 million pounds, in order to get the Portuguese midfielder to move to Saudi Arabia.
According to the report, Ronaldo is believed to have persuaded his club to make a deal for Fernandes. Fernandes met with United during the previous week to discuss his future as well as the club’s goals for the future.
It is already abundantly evident that Fernandes has expressed his feelings over the possibility of playing with Ronaldo for both his club and his nation.
“Do I have the notion that I’m playing alongside a history maker?” Fernandes asked in a statement that he held back in October. To the contrary, I do not possess a thought; rather, I possess the conviction! Every one of us is conscious of it.
“We all know the force and influence that Ronaldo has, the force and the impact that Ronaldo has had on the careers of many of us Portuguese players, the opportunities that he’s created for the next generation of players, the way others began to look at Portugal,” he went to say.
“They already were beginning to look at us with more reverence, but everything that Ronaldo accomplished meant our name was more feared, and obviously we are grateful to have lived in this era, as it was a privilege for us to watch Cristiano play and at the same time I had an opportunity to play alongside him,” Fernandes said in conclusion.
According to his current deal with United, Fernandes, who is 29 years old, still has two years left to go.
The fact that this is the case makes any potential transfer away from Old Trafford relatively difficult; yet, Al Nassr possess the financial resources to undertake such a move.
Fernandes has been one of the few bright sparks in the midst of a sea of grey, despite the fact that Erik ten Hag and United have had a very awful 2018 season.
