Manchester United coach lastest “SACK” news
Erik ten Hag, the Swedish manager, is about to win another FA Cup, but that won’t stop the club from firing him.
Even if Manchester United wins the FA Cup soon, Erik ten Hag will still be fired.
The Red Devils beat their fierce rivals Liverpool 4–3 in a very close quarterfinal game over the weekend. Ten Hag was asked if the game could make a difference. Last season was rough for Manchester United. They want to end on a high note by making it to the Champions League.
He might not be able to keep his job after the season is over, though, since Sir Jim Ratcliffe is taking over as new owner.
According to a podcast in the Netherlands (via SoccerNews), senior writer Valentijn Driessen from the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf said that Ten Hag will not be saved this season, even if they win the title.
Driessen said, “Of course it’s still the end,” which seems to mean that Ten Hag’s time is almost over. “Not even if he wins the FA Cup.” When Louis van Gaal won the FA Cup, he also quit, but it wasn’t as hard for him.
United is in sixth place, nine points behind Aston Villa, which is in fourth place. They also came in fourth place in the Champions League and were blown out in the group stage.
United has lost 11 of the last 10 Premier League games. Along with that, they play Coventry City at Wembley in the FA Cup semi-finals.
