Manchester United coach Ruben Amorim reveals the name of the two new players he wants Man Utd to sign after Bryan Mbeumo

After Bryan Mbeumo’s departure, Ruben Amorim desires that Manchester United sign these two players.

The arrivals of left-back Diego Leon and playmaker Matheus Cunha have been confirmed thus far.

Bryan Mbeumo’s departure from Brentford is imminent.

Mirror currently reports that manager Ruben Amorim intends to enhance the caliber of the team prior to the commencement of the new campaign.

He is ‘desperate’ to make at least two additional acquisitions, a striker and a midfielder, while simultaneously eliminating the majority of the deadwood.

Amorim’s squad specifications should be satisfied by United.
United’s requirement for a prominent striker who can ensure 20 league goals for the season is evident from the previous season’s performance.

Last season, Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee scored a combined seven league goals, and a similar performance this year could result in United remaining in mid-table.

Amorim is acutely cognizant of the circumstances. Potential solutions for United include Crystal Palace’s Jean-Philippe Mateta and Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins.

Mateta’s performances have been particularly overlooked. Since the appointment of Oliver Glasner as Palace’s manager in February 2024, he has scored 27 goals in the Premier League.

Erling Haaland, Alexander Isak, and Mohamed Salah are the only players to have scored more during that time. The Red Devils would benefit from Mateta’s exceptional finishing abilities and commanding presence.

It is also recommended that a new midfielder be recruited, as the center of the field was not adequately controlled during the previous season.

Captain Bruno Fernandes is anticipated to assume the central midfield position under Amorim following the acquisitions of Cunha and Mbeumo.

Fernandes is a top-tier player in terms of goal scoring and opportunity creation; however, he requires the assistance of a robust defensive midfielder, as Casemiro is no longer at the peak of his abilities.

Manuel Ugarte has also been inconsistent in his performances. United’s pursuit of Atalanta’s Ederson has been a long-standing objective, and they may resume their pursuit of the Brazilian forward.

Adam Wharton, a Palace sensation, would be a potential wildcard acquisition. However, the Red Devils may be discouraged by the expectation of a substantial transfer fee from the south London club.

Marcus Rashford is currently en route to Barcelona on a loan, with the potential to purchase him in the upcoming summer.
