Manchester United finally hit the jackpot on the transfer deal of Manuel Ugarte before transfer deadline

As Man United approaches the final week of the transfer window, Manuel Ugarte remains their primary midfield target.

Manchester United has the potential to negotiate a deal to acquire Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte, similar to the one that was reached with Sofyan Amrabat last year.

United has expressed a predilection for purchasing Ugarte from PSG; however, they have been unwilling to agree to PSG’s request for £51.1 million for the Uruguayan international.

Ugarte, 23, was not included in PSG’s roster for their inaugural Ligue 1 victory over Le Havre last week. The French champions are eager to negotiate a contract with United.

It is believed that the purchase of Ugarte is contingent upon the potential sale of Scott McTominay. However, United is amenable to the possibility of negotiating a loan fee with the option or obligation to purchase Ugarte.

McTominay was not sold by United last summer, which led to a deadline-day compromise with Fiorentina to sign fellow midfielder Amrabat for a €10 million loan fee with an option to purchase for €25 million.

United’s profitability and sustainability calculations would be enhanced by postponing a fixed charge for Ugarte until next summer, according to well-placed sources.

Napoli is expressing a strong interest in McTominay following the acceptance of a £25 million offer by Burnley for midfielder Sander Berge by Fulham. Since their third offer of £23m was rejected last month, Fulham has refrained from making a proposal for McTominay.

United had considered Berge as a backup option; however, sporting director Dan Ashworth has expressed confidence in the possibility of securing a contract for Ugarte.

With the transfer deadline approaching next week, United may be compelled to reduce their asking price for McTominay to £25m, despite their previous demand of £30m.

United has the potential to earn up to £59m in fees from outgoings this summer. However, they are eager to supervise a substantial player transfer in order to improve their profitability and sustainability calculations for the upcoming year.
