Manchester United has found a new replacement for 24-year-old Brazilian player Antony Santos
Antony could be one of the players who leaves Old Trafford this summer as Man United try to follow the rules for Financial Fair Play.
Reports say that Manchester United has been keeping an eye on Wolverhampton Wanderers star Pedro Neto as a possible alternative for Antony.
Neto has been good for Wolves this season, even though he has missed games because of injuries. In 19 league games, he has scored two goals and set up nine others. Antony, on the other hand, hasn’t done much since moving to United for £85 million two years ago.
Brazil’s winger has only started 11 games for United this season. In their last six league games, he has come on as a substitute. In the Premier League, he hasn’t scored or set up a goal yet.
United is likely to listen to offers for the winger this summer, and he could be one of the players who leaves. Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his team are still planning for big changes at Old Trafford. The Mirror says that Neto has become a possible target for the United leadership.
Ratcliffe recently said that sales are very important: “FFP (financial fair play) has become a new part of running the football club and it’s clearly a really important part of running a football club.”
“You should also think about how to run FFP in a way that helps the club.” There are a few different ways to do that, but FFP says that in the end, you have to run the club within its own means.
“And, basically, it looks at how much you’ve spent in the past, and the club has spent a lot in the last couple of seasons.” That does have an effect on FFP going forward because they’ve used up a lot of their limit, if you will. So we need to be very clear about how bad it is in the summer.”
