Manchester United has reportedly reached an agreement concerning a £40 million fee, inclusive of wages, to finalise the acquisition of a player.

Manchester United is poised to finalise the acquisition of Patrick Dorgu during the forthcoming winter transfer window, with the intention of strengthening the squad under the management of Ruben Amorim.

Following several weeks of negotiations and the rejection of multiple proposals, the Red Devils have ultimately secured an agreement with Lecce and the left-back to finalise the transfer. According to a journalist, a player valued at £16.7 million is poised to facilitate a transfer to Manchester United.

According to reports from the Italian media, the Old Trafford club has reached an agreement involving a total compensation package of £40 million (47.5 million euros) in transfer fees and wages to secure the services of the Danish defender. According to the latest edition of Corriere del Mezzogiorno, as illustrated in the accompanying news image,

Manchester United has successfully concluded the acquisition of a player from Lecce for a total of 37.5 million euros, comprising a fixed fee of 30 million euros and an additional 7.5 million euros in performance-related add-ons. Dorgu was also of interest to Serie A champions, Napoli; however, Manchester United has successfully secured the agreement.

As reported by Solo Lecce, the 20-year-old prodigy has entered into a contractual agreement with the record Premier League champions, which is projected to yield approximately 10 million euros over a span of five years.

The four-capped international player is capable of performing on both the right and left flanks of the defence as well as the offence. It is, of course, to be expected that he, being a naturally left-sided player, will be employed by Ruben Amorim in the capacity of a left wing-back within his 3-4-2-1 formation.

Given the frequent injury issues faced by Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia, it is hoped that the acquisition of Dorgu will definitively address the left wing-back/left-back dilemma at Manchester United. It is to be hoped that United can expeditiously finalise the transfer in order to prepare the player for the Premier League match against Palace on Sunday.
