Amorim succeeded Erik ten Hag as United’s new manager on November 1. He arrived in England on Monday, having assumed responsibility for Sporting Lisbon for the final time less than 24 hours prior. United identified the 39-year-old as their top choice to succeed Ten Hag at the end of last month. He is currently awaiting a work permit to conduct training sessions.
Amorim, who will assume responsibility for United for the first time when they visit Portman Road to play Ipswich Town on November 24, is regarded as one of the most promising coaches in Europe. He has won five trophies in the Portuguese capital, including two league titles.

Upon his arrival at Manchester Airport, Amorim was chauffeured to Carrington by members of his coaching team, who had previously encountered United personnel during a tour of the training ground on Monday afternoon. United has yet to confirm their appointments.
