Manchester United is “Very Close” to signing a “Insane” £250,000-a-Week Star According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Manchester United is in the process of concluding a deal to acquire Brentford winger Bryan Mbeumo.
Mbeumo is on the brink of becoming the Red Devils’ second signing of the summer, as he is poised to sign a long-term contract after spurning Tottenham’s interest and the possibility of reuniting with his former coach, Thomas Frank. The ‘underrated’ Cameroonian is expected to sign a contract worth approximately £250,000 per week, according to
Fichajes, and the agreement between Brentford and Man United could be finalized in the coming days. Mbeumo had a career-best season in the Premier League, scoring 20 goals and providing eight assists in 38 top-flight appearances under Frank. Brentford’s 25-year-old Cameroonian forward, who transferred from Troyes
in France in the summer of 2019, has one year remaining on his contract. However, the Bees have the option to extend it by an additional 12 months. Mbeumo is poised to become Man United’s second summer signing, following Matheus Cunha, who joined on a five-year deal last week in a £62.5m deal from Wolves. The Red Devils are rumored to be in pursuit of at least one additional attacker in the wake of the acquisitions of Cunha and Mbeumo.
Ruben Amorim is also expected to pursue a new number nine. Earlier this month, United failed to secure their primary striker target, Liam Delap, from Chelsea. They have yet to identify a concrete alternative, with the likes of Viktor Gyokeres, Victor Osimhen, and Hugo Ekitike still under consideration.
