If everything goes well, Kobbie Mainoo could play his first game for England on Saturday against Brazil.

With Kobbie Mainoo’s growth still going on, Erik ten Hag and his teachers at Manchester United have told him two things he could do better.

As a young player, Mainoo (18) is already one of the best in the Premier League. He might play his first game for England on Saturday at Wembley against Brazil.

English manager Gareth Southgate changed his mind and added Mainoo to the main team this week.

The first time he played Brazil and Belgium, he didn’t pick Mainoo for his team. But he changed his mind and called him up from the U21 group.

Since his first Premier League game for United in November, the player has come a long way.

The midfielder Mainoo has only played 23 times for United so far, but he shows a lot of potential.

For United, “they’ve been very happy with his progress,” but the Times says they “still think his game needs work.”

Ten Hag told him this season that Mainoo should ask for the ball more. The story also said that he might be able to improve the way he makes passes in the final third.

Southgate will decide if Mainoo will make his first start for England as an adult on Saturday. Everyone will be at Wembley to see it.

The player could still become a citizen of Ghana, where both of his parents were born. He could play for England to show that the manager trusts his skills.

He talked about the strange way he found out he was called up to play for England’s adult team this week.

Instead of calling Mainoo, the news was given to him in person when he showed up for the U21 team.

Mainoo told England’s official X account, “I was called up to the U21s and then got a text from Steve Holland [assistant manager].” I was called up and told to meet him at the front desk. I would be with the team for the week.
