There have been rumors about Marcus Rashford’s future, but he is said to have told Manchester United that he wants to stay at the club past the summer transfer window. But the winger’s change of heart about Erik ten Hag won’t help ten Hag’s chances of staying boss next season.

Last season, Rashford scored 30 goals in 56 games across all categories, which was the best scoring record of his career. Ten Hag helped him do it.

He was given a huge new deal worth £300,000 a week until 2028 because of how well he did.

But Rashford has declined a lot in Ten Hag’s second season, which has been a disaster all around. He has scored only eight goals in 40 games.

The 26-year-old has been in bad news for things he did off the field, like going to a party in Manchester hours after losing a 3-0 derby and going on a bender in Belfast the night before missing practice because he was sick.

Rashford could be sold this summer, when Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS are likely to lead a move away from Old Trafford.

According to The Athletic, United will look at good offers for the struggling academy product if he says he wants to try something new.

But HITC says Rashford has told his old club that he plans to stay and work hard to get back to his best next season.

Rashford has been a sure starter on the left side for most of the season, even though he is still having trouble. He will be hoping that playing on a better team after the summer will help him.

We don’t know yet if Ten Hag will still be in charge for the 2024–25 season. After the FA Cup final on May 25 against Manchester City, Ratcliffe and INEOS will likely decide what will happen with him next.

Previous managers have lost their jobs because their teams didn’t make it into the Champions League. United will not be in Europe’s top tournament next season.

Jason Wilcox, the new technical director, is currently finishing a one-month audit of Ten Hag’s credentials, which includes looking at how he works with his team and the players.

The Manchester Evening News says Rashford has grown bored with the 54-year-old teacher over the past few months.

If everyone at Carrington feels the same way, then beating United’s bitter enemies to win the famous cup might not be enough to stop Ratcliffe from starting over.
