Manchester United beat Barnsley 7-0 at Old Trafford in the third round of the League Cup. It was the first seven-goal win for United under Erik ten Hag.
Eight changes were made to Ten Hag’s team from the one that beat Southampton 3-0 in the Premier League on Saturday. Marcus Rashford scored the first goal in the 16th minute, ending any hopes of a surprise. Antony made a penalty, and Alejandro Garnacho scored before halftime.
Early in the second half, Garnacho scored again, and Rashford scored his third goal of the season. Late in the game, Christian Eriksen scored two goals to give United their first seven-goal win under Ten Hag.
