Manchester United ready to pay ‘real fortune’ to sign £43m French star in January after accepting latest offer from Man United.
Manchester United is willing to spend a “hundred and forty-three million pounds” to acquire French icon in January, having accepted Manchester United’s most recent offerSport (via SportWitness) reports that in January, Manchester United are reportedly willing to pay an exorbitant amount to acquire Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo.Last summer, the Premier League heavyweights were rumored to have been interested in signing the Frenchman; however, the transaction fell through. Manchester United was financially unable to pay for his signature. Harry Maguire, a central defender who was expected to be sold in order to generate transfer funds, instead opted to remain with the club.
Todibo remains a transfer target for Manchester United, and Sport reports that United might be prepared to spend an absolute fortune to acquire him this winter. According to the Spanish publication, his valuation exceeds £43 million, and Nice may demand a higher transfer fee to facilitate his departure during the upcoming transfer window.
The amount United could pay for him has not been disclosed, but Barcelona is hopeful that a deal can be reached in order to receive a financial increase during the middle of the season. In January 2021, Todibo signed with Nice, and he remained with the club permanently that summer. A 20% portion of any future sales proceeds will be allocated to Barcelona.Exemplary defender
United have struggled this season, and their defensive performance in the Champions League has been cause for concern. Notwithstanding a favorable group draw with Galatasaray, Copenhagen, and Bayern Munich, they have conceded 14 goals in the preceding five matches. The club must hope for a favorable outcome on the final matchday in order to advance to the round of 16.
Their defensive difficulties in Europe have been evident in specific Premier League matches as well. United are in need of additional defensive firepower, and acquiring Todibo could help them finish in the top four. In addition to being an exceptional distributor, the Frenchman enjoys collisions and duels. An additional notable attribute of the 24-year-old is his exceptional capacity for recovery runs.
It remains to be seen whether United will spend a substantial amount of money on him in January. Due to their apprehensions regarding Financial Fair Play, they might require the departure of a few players in the New Year prior to acquiring the central defender. An alternative would be a loan agreement with a buy-back clause, but Given Nice’s aspirations to contend for the French Ligue 1 championship, they might require upfront funding.Sport (via SportWitness) reports that in January, Manchester United are reportedly willing to pay an exorbitant amount to acquire Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo.Last summer, the Premier League heavyweights were rumored to have been interested in signing the Frenchman; however, the transaction fell through.
