Manchester United to sale Antony and 9 other Man Utd players as urgent transformation is needed this summer transfer
Antony’s time at Manchester United is said to be coming to an end.
Reports say that Manchester United will look at offers for Antony during the summer transfer window. The Red Devils are looking to get rid of some players at the end of the season. Antony hasn’t done much since he joined United two years ago. He hasn’t scored or set up a goal in the Premier League this season.
Erik ten Hag didn’t pick him for United’s loss to Fulham over the weekend. Instead, he chose teenage prospect Omari Forson to start on the right. Some people think Antony’s time at Old Trafford might be coming to an end soon, as he could be released in the summer.
The 24-year-old is one of several players the Manchester Evening News says could be leaving Old Trafford at the end of the season. People think that Manchester United will listen to offers for Antony, but it’s unlikely that they will be able to get back the £81 million they paid for him from Ajax two summers ago.
The summer is when Raphael Varane, Anthony Martial, and Tom Heaton’s contracts will end. This means they will be free to leave unless new deals can be made in the next few months. Also, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, and Facundo Pellistri’s contracts are set to end in 2025. This leaves United with the decision of whether to sell them or risk losing them for free in a year.
Sofyan Amrabat will be sent back to Fiorentina at the end of his season-long loan. At this point, a final deal is not in the works. Casemiro’s future at United is also said to be uncertain because the Saudi Pro League is interested in him before the summer transfer market opens.
Mason Greenwood is another player who could leave Old Trafford when his loan with Getafe ends at the end of the season. There is a chance that he will be saved, though, since Sir Jim Ratcliffe said that a new choice will be made later this year.
The story also says that Jadon Sancho, Donny van de Beek, and Hannibal Mejbri will likely be for sale. However, Sancho’s decision could depend on what happens with Ten Hag in the future. It will be up to Benfica to decide whether to buy Alvaro Fernandez, who is currently on loan with the Portuguese giants for the season.
Ratcliffe, who is said to be in charge of football operations at United, recently stressed how important it is for the club to sell players in order to follow Premier League rules about money. He said, “It’s clear that FFP is a very important part of running a football club, and you need to think about how to manage it in a way that helps the club.”
“You can do that in a number of different ways.” But in the end, FFP says you have to run the club within its own means. It also looks at how much you’ve spent in the past. The club has spent a lot in the last couple of seasons, which does affect their FFP going forward because they’ve used up a lot of their budget, if you will.
“We need to be very clear about how bad it is in the summer.” Right now I don’t know the whole answer to that question. It clearly has something to do with both buying and sales, so we need to understand that number before the summer window opens.
