Former Manchester United player Noussair Mazraoui has already told them what he would want if he moved to Old Trafford.
It has been said that United wants to sign Mazraoui during the summer transfer window. It looks more and more possible that the Reds will add to their team before the transfer window closes on September 2. Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro have already joined.
Mazraoui has been linked with United as Erik ten Hag looks to improve the defense at full back. Right now, United has Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka as choices for right back. On the left, they have Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia.
But Shaw and Dalot are still playing for their country, and Malacia is not with the United team that is touring the United States before the season starts. So, it looks like United will be looking for a new fullback this summer, and Mazraoui is one of the players they might be interested in.
But it was in April of last year that the Bayern Munich defender talked about how unhappy he was with how little he played. Mazraoui only played 26 times for the Bundesliga giants in 2022–23 and then 29 times last season. It’s unclear if that will change this season with new boss Vincent Kompany in charge.
“Of course, I am upset about my situation,” Mazraoui told the reporter Maximilian Koch in April 2023. “Before the World Cup, I was in the starting eleven. Now that I’m healthy, I don’t get to play.” I’m not even the second or third pick.
“It’s too early for me to say what I think, but it’s not good.”
The first choice right back for United right now is Dalot, as Wan-Bissaka is highly linked with a move away from Old Trafford. Given Dalot’s strong play at both right and left back last season, Mazraoui may need to be promised playing time in order to be signed. This could become a problem in the talks.
