In the midst of Manchester United’s interest, Leeds goalkeeper Illan Meslier establishes a critical transfer condition.

In the midst of ambiguity regarding Altay Bayindir’s future, Meslier has been associated with Manchester United. In pursuit of guaranteed first-team minutes elsewhere, Bayindir may be on his way out of the club.

Since his arrival at Old Trafford, the Turkey international has encountered significant difficulty in securing playing time, as Andre Onana has reigned as the undisputed number one.

Ruben Amorim recently provided Bayindir with the opportunity to demonstrate his abilities by starting him in a Carabao Cup quarter-final match against Tottenham Hotspur.

However, Bayindir was unable to capitalize on the opportunity, committing two costly errors as United were eliminated from the competition.

The Peoples Person previously reported that Amorim is also interested in increasing competition for Onana, which is why the connections to Meslier were made.

It is not the first time that Meslier has been mentioned as being on United’s radar. He was once considered a potential replacement for David de Gea; however, it is evident that such a transfer never occurred.

A sensational campaign is being enjoyed by the Frenchman with Leeds. He has maintained 14 clean sheets during his 24 Championship appearances. During that time, he has only allowed 15 goals.

In advance of what could be an enticing opportunity for the 24-year-old, journalist Ben Jacobs disclosed Meslier’s position to GIVEMESPORT.

Jacobs stated, “There is interest in him.” I am unable to verify the Manchester United connections to a significant extent.

“Manchester United will address the Bayinder situation. If Bayinder departs, whether it be in January or the summer, they will require an additional goalkeeper.

“However, there are potential candidates who are interested in Meslier as a number one. Additionally, I am informed that this is his preference. Meslier has substantial first-team experience, despite his relatively youthful age as a goalkeeper.

Leeds’ victory over Derby on Sunday marked his 200th appearance for the Elland Road team. In doing so, he became the first Leeds goalkeeper to attain a double-century of matches for the club since Nigel Martyn, who achieved the same feat in 2000.

United will resume play at Old Trafford later this evening when they host Newcastle, which is managed by Eddie Howe.
