In light of Chelsea’s pursuit of Alejandro Garnacho, Manchester United has not prioritised Christopher Nkunku as a candidate for the centre forward position.
When a prospective swap deal involving Nkunku was first floated with United in the market for a forward, Chelsea considered bidding for Garnacho during the winter transfer window.
According to sources, Chelsea is once again endeavouring to establish a market for Garnacho, who is expected to depart Manchester after five years. United declined to pursue Nkunku during the midseason window, as they were unwilling to accept a temporary solution. Chelsea has once again suggested the possibility of a trade, as Garnacho is now free to depart after crossing United coach Ruben Amorim.
However, United are currently considering other players before Nkunku. United have submitted an enhanced offer for Brentford winger Bryan Mbeumo that exceeds £60 million. Additionally, they are committed to procuring a striker in the wake of Liam Delap’s decision to join Chelsea. Viktor Gyokeres, a striker for Sporting, and Hugo Ekitike, a forward for Eintracht Frankfurt,
are two frontmen that United is considering for the removal of up to five forwards.Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, and Antony are available for transfer after being loaned out last season. Additionally, Inter Milan has enquired about Rasmus Hojlund. Nkunku, 27, started 22 games for Chelsea last season, with only nine of those games occurring in the Premier League.
He is not an out-and-out striker. This year, he was also omitted from the France squad and has not played for over two months as a result of an injury. In January, a Chelsea match was witnessed by Garnacho’s representatives, Carlos Cambeiro and Enrique de Lucas, as the Europa Conference League champions contemplated making an offer for the winger.
