Martin O’Neill has spoken out and provided an update on Marcelo Saracchi’s injury situation at Celtic

Celtic manager Martin O’Neill has confirmed that Marcelo Saracchi has suffered yet another hamstring injury, forcing him off early in the team’s 4–0 victory over Kilmarnock.

The left-back pulled up midway through the first half after a bright start and was replaced by Kieran Tierney. It marks another frustrating blow for the Uruguayan, who has struggled for consistency since joining the club due to recurring fitness problems.

O’Neill now faces an expanding injury list, with Alistair Johnston and Callum Osmand already sidelined after undergoing surgery. Saracchi’s energy and drive down the left had been key for Celtic in recent weeks, and his absence presents another headache for O’Neill as the fixtures pile up.

Speaking after the match, the Celtic boss admitted his frustration: “Honestly, you know, yeah, he’s going to be out again.” His blunt tone reflected the growing exasperation within the camp as injuries continue to disrupt momentum.

Hamstring issues have plagued Celtic throughout the campaign, and O’Neill acknowledged it’s an area the club’s medical team must address. Tierney’s return offers some reassurance, but losing another experienced option at such a crucial stage is a major setback.
