Match Prediction and Team News: Leicester City vs Wrexham

Leicester City vs Wrexham Preview: Prediction, Team News & Probable Lineups

Leicester City and Wrexham meet for the first time in over four decades on Tuesday night, with the Welsh side chasing a third consecutive away victory in the Championship at the King Power Stadium.

Both teams were held to 1-1 draws at the weekend — Leicester rescuing a late point against West Bromwich Albion to stay fifth in the table, while Wrexham shared the spoils with Derby County, leaving them 10 places further back.

Match Preview
Leicester’s promotion push comes as no surprise, though their habit of conceding first has raised eyebrows. Marti Cifuentes’ men have still managed to grind out results, losing only once domestically this term. The Foxes boast four clean sheets from their last five home games and remain unbeaten in six league meetings with Wrexham, the most recent a 1-0 win at Filbert Street in 1981.
Wrexham, meanwhile, are finding life tougher in the Championship.

After three straight promotions, Phil Parkinson’s men have collected just eight points from seven matches — their slowest start under his leadership.

Defensive frailties have been a problem, with 13 goals conceded already, though their away form remains strong with four wins in their last five on the road. Victory here would give them three straight away league wins at this level for the first time in club history.

Team News

Leicester were without Ben Nelson at the weekend due to injury, while Harry Souttar continues his recovery from an Achilles problem. Aaron Ramsey is suspended, though Victor Kristiansen returned from injury on Saturday.

An own goal from Nat Phillips secured a late equaliser against West Brom.

Wrexham had several injury concerns against Derby. Oliver Rathbone and Jay Rodriguez missed out with ankle issues, Liberato Cacace sat out with a hamstring problem, while George Thomason was eased back from a thigh injury. Andy Cannon (ACL) and Danny Ward (elbow) remain long-term absentees. Lewis O’Brien scored their only goal on Saturday, while Josh Windass enters the clash in fine away form with four goals across his last three road games.

Predicted Lineups

Leicester City XI: Stolarczyk; Pereira, Faes, Vestergaard, Kristiansen; Winks, Soumare; Fatawu, James, Reid; Ayew
Wrexham XI: Okonkwo; Cleworth, Hyam, Doyle; Kabore, Dobson, Sheaf, Longman; Windass, O’Brien; Moore
