Match Preview: Hibernian vs Rangers – Prediction, Team Updates, and Expected Lineups

Hibernian and Rangers are set to face off at Easter Road on Wednesday night in a highly anticipated Scottish Premiership matchday 10 fixture, with both teams looking to build on their recent victories.

David Gray’s Hibs have been in fine domestic form, winning their last two league games against Livingston and Aberdeen, which has lifted them to third place in the table with 14 points from nine outings. Despite early European elimination, the Edinburgh side have impressed on home soil and remain unbeaten at Easter Road this season.

Gray will be without midfielders Joe Newell (groin) and Alasana Manneh (hamstring), while Warren O’Hora is a doubt after being forced off last time out. If unavailable, Rocky Kiranga is expected to slot into defence alongside Grant Hanley and Jack Iredale, with Chris and Nicky Cadden operating as wing-backs. Up front, Jamie McGrath, Kieron Bowie, and Thibault Klidje should continue as the attacking trio.

Rangers, meanwhile, enter the clash buoyed by a 3-1 victory over Kilmarnock in Danny Rohl’s first Premiership match in charge. Despite a slow start to the season, the Gers appear to be rediscovering their rhythm.

However, Rohl remains without Dujon Sterling (Achilles) and Rabbi Matondo (unspecified) through injury. Daniloand Bojan Miovski are expected to continue leading the line, with Youssef Chermiti pushing for a start after netting his first goal for the club. Defensively, James Tavernier, John Souttar, and Derek Cornelius are likely to retain their places in a back three.

Predicted lineups:
Hibernian: Sallinger; Kiranga, Hanley, Iredale; C. Cadden, Mulligan, Barlaser, N. Cadden; McGrath; Bowie, Klidje.
Rangers: Butland; Tavernier, Souttar, Cornelius; Gassama, Raskin, Diomande, Aasgaard, Meghoma; Danilo, Miovski.
