Middlesbrough have made their position clear regarding Rob Edwards’ move to Wolves, with Steve Gibson reportedly refusing to enter any transfer discussions with the Premier League club.
Edwards’ return to Molineux — where he previously worked as both player and coach — may make sense personally, but it has closed the door on any goodwill from Boro. The new Wolves boss is a huge admirer of Hayden Hackney and Dael Fry, but promotion-chasing Middlesbrough won’t sell, especially not to him.
Sources say Gibson has already warned Edwards not to attempt a January raid. Even in the unlikely event that Boro consider selling one of their key assets, Wolves will not be the club they negotiate with.
