Names of the three(3) Arsenal player to miss the Premier League opener against Wolveson saturday
As the Arsenal prepare to commence their Premier League campaign against Wolves at the Emirates Stadium this Saturday, manager Mikel Arteta has disclosed that defender Jurrien Timber is fully recovered and available for selection.
Arsenal, who have been the runners-up in the last two seasons to Manchester City, are resolute in their pursuit of the title this season.
Arsenal has received a substantial advantage with Timber’s return to first-team training, as the Dutch international had been absent for the previous three pre-season matches. Arteta verified Timber’s availability during a press conference, stating, “Yes, he will be in the squad for tomorrow.”
“Undoubtedly, he endured an extremely challenging period; however, he capitalized on it in an exceptional manner.” Nevertheless, we were able to accomplish a significant amount of work and enhance our performance in numerous areas. He is now prepared to participate, and he will be afforded the opportunity.
Timber, who transferred from Ajax to Arsenal last summer, immediately impressed before sustaining a season-ending injury during his Premier League debut against Nottingham Forest in August 2023. On the final day of the previous season, he momentarily returned to action against Everton, and there was a great deal of anticipation for his contributions in the upcoming season.
Nevertheless, Timber was unable to participate in the Emirates Cup matches against Bayer Leverkusen and Olympique Lyon, as well as the final pre-season encounters against Liverpool in the United States. The Gunners were delighted to witness his return to training on Wednesday.
Arteta also disclosed that midfielder Fabio Vieira was unable to participate in the Emirates Cup as a consequence of a hip injury. Vieira’s participation in the forthcoming match was not entirely confirmed by Arteta; however, he expressed optimism regarding his recuperation. Arteta stated, “Fabio Vieira—we must now assess his condition following training; however, he appeared to be in better condition today.”
Additionally, Arteta verified that Kieran Tierney and Takehiro Tomiyasu will be unavailable for the forthcoming weeks. Tomiyasu is currently recuperating from a knee injury, while Tierney is recovering from a hamstring rupture that he sustained during Euro 2024.
Arteta recognized the obstacles Tierney has encountered as a result of his injury, but he underscored the significance of providing him with the necessary support during his recuperation. “He must concentrate and recuperate in the most effective manner possible.” He has encountered another challenging period as a result of his most recent injury. Arteta further stated, “We must endeavor to provide him with the necessary assistance to ensure that he returns in a healthy state.”
