Tosin Adarabioyo’s future has been updated by Fabrizio Romano in the Newcastle United moves section.
Newcastle United may not be able to get Tosin Adarabioyo this summer after this setback.
Since March, the Magpies have been trying to make a deal with the out-of-contract Fulham back. It was thought that Manchester United and Chelsea were also interested in the player. Fabrizio Romano, a trade expert, says it looks like Chelsea has swooped in to make a deal with the 26-year-old defender.
It was said by Romano that Chelsea is almost done negotiating to sign Tosin Adarabioyo. Tosin’s deal with Newcastle has been in the works for weeks, but Chelsea is now the clear favorite and will be careful until it’s done.
“Tosin will be the first player to sign for Enzo Maresca, if everything goes as planned.”
Since coming to Fulham from Manchester City in 2020, Adarabioyo has played in 129 games, but he wasn’t in any of The Cottagers’ matchday squads in the last few weeks of the season because he told the club he was going for free at the end of the season.

Along with Adarabioyo, Newcastle has also been trying to get Lloyd Kelly, who used to be captain of AFC Bournemouth, on a free move. As a 25-year-old, he can play both center-back and left-back. He has worked with Eddie Howe, the head coach of Newcastle, before joining Bournemouth from Bristol City in 2019.
As a result of Jamaal Lascelles and Sven Botman’s long-term ACL injuries and Paul Dummett’s release at the end of June, the Magpies want to add more defensive choices.
