Newcastle United and Manchester United’s transfer target has been permitted to depart, as the club’s executive has confirmed discussions regarding the 19-year-old.

Bayern Munich’s promising talent, Mathys Tel, is poised to be made available for loan in light of interest from various Premier League clubs.

Newcastle United and Manchester United have previously expressed interest in the 19-year-old French forward; however, he has chosen to remain with Bayern.

Since his transfer from Rennes for £23.6 million in 2022, Tel has netted 16 goals in 77 appearances; however, he has yet to score this season, having been restricted to only three starting appearances.

Reports throughout Europe associated Newcastle with a prospective acquisition of the juvenile player during the previous season, while Manchester United was acknowledged for making an inquiry.

It is now possible that Tel may be made available for a loan transfer in January, as Bayern’s sporting director, Christoph Freund, has disclosed that discussions are currently underway with the player.

Manchester United and Newcastle have subsequently enhanced their offensive capabilities through the acquisitions of Joshua Zirkzee and Will Osula, respectively; however, both players have encountered difficulties in making a significant impact thus far.

According to reports from Sky Germany, Nottingham Forest may pursue a loan arrangement for Tel, while Crystal Palace, Fulham, and Leicester City have also been associated with potential interest in the player.

As Newcastle approaches the January transfer window, the club aims to enhance its options on the flanks.

However, head coach Eddie Howe has cautioned that the window is likely to be uneventful, as the club does not possess ‘extortionate funds’ for expenditure.
