Newcastle United F.C. Eddie Howe delivers verdict on the newly signed 25-year-old Lloyd Kelly player
Newcastle United trade news: Lloyd Kelly is getting checked out for a move to St. James’ Park right now.
Steve Cook, a former defender for Bournemouth, thinks that Lloyd Kelly will be “a great signing” for Newcastle United when he moves from the south coast club to St. James’ Park.
Kelly is likely to sign with the Magpies for free when his deal with Bournemouth ends. He will then be able to play with Eddie Howe again after only one season together at the Vitality Stadium.
Cook played with Kelly for Bournemouth and helped him move up the leagues under Howe. He thinks Kelly’s leaving will be “really disappointing” for his old team, but he thinks the 25-year-old will do well in the north east.
From a Bournemouth point of view, it’s really sad to lose a good player like Lloydy, said Cook, who now plays for QPR on BBC Radio Solent. He’s in great shape, a great football player, and he also knows the football club. It’s too bad, especially since it’s free.
“I believe it was bound to happen after Tottenham’s offer.” It obviously didn’t happen, but I think it was bound to. I believe Bournemouth has lost a great player and Newcastle has gained a great one.
“He’s a model of a man; he’s physically amazing and very fast.” He is a very good football player technically. At such a young age, he can play left center-half in a back five, center-half in a back four, and left back.
