This summer, there were rumors that the Newcastle United winger would move to Liverpool.
As Anthony Gordon went back to training with the Magpies, he sent a simple word to Newcastle United fans.
The England player took a long break after his work with the Three Lions this summer. He is now at the center of a transfer saga because Liverpool wants to make a deal with him. The Reds, who Gordon supported as a child, were allegedly offered the chance to sign Newcastle’s star player last month, but they turned it down because they were in a hurry to meet the Premier League’s PSR deadline.
Before Yankuba Minteh and Elliot Anderson were sold, a number of well-known players are said to have been offered to teams. The Magpies’ finances are much better this month, though, and Gordon will still be an important part of their plans going forward.
Newcastle is allegedly going to meet with the England international to talk about a new deal that would keep him at St. James’ Park longer. But last week, news came out from Liverpool that Arne Slot’s team might move quickly to sign Gordon because the player is “keen” to move.
Gordon himself hasn’t said anything about the rumors about him moving. He just sent out a simple tweet that said “Back” and included a picture of himself happy in Newcastle United training gear.
There has been a lot of talk about Gordon’s possible move, and this is the clearest sign yet that he is not interested in leaving Newcastle. They do not want to sell the 23-year-old.
