Newcastle United forward provides a social media indication on his return to the pitch after a two-month injury setback, stating that he will return “soon.”

Parkinson’s most recent appearance for Newcastle was on December 16, when the Under-21s defeated Chelsea 3-2 at Whitley Park. The 19-year-old scored twice in that match; however, he has not appeared at the first-team or academy level since then due to an ankle injury.

Parkinson made his Premier League debut for Newcastle at Bournemouth in November 2023 and has been on Eddie Howe’s radar for the past couple of seasons. Several clubs in the EFL and National League were monitoring the forward with the intention of a potential January loan exit; however,

this was ultimately ruled out due to his injury. “Parkinson has experienced mental strain as a result of a seemingly innocuous injury sustained during training and games,” O’Carroll previously stated. “It was unfortunate, but [he] has exhibited maturity by attacking the gym and effectively circumventing it. I am optimistic that he will capitalise on this period and rejoin us.”

Parkinson has reinforced O’Carroll’s remarks by suggesting that he will resume his activities now that March has arrived. In August, the teenager posted an image of himself walking onto the ground at the Lamex Stadium on Instagram to hint at his impending return.

In the match against Tottenham Hotspur Under-21s, Parkinson scored the decisive goal. He included the word “soon” and an hourglass emoji in the caption of the post. Newcastle Under-21s will play their subsequent match at Middlesbrough on Friday.

Sanyasi be challenged to regain his fitness prior to the conclusion of the campaign, as the Newcastle Under-21s and Under-18s regular seasons are scheduled to conclude in April and early May, respectively. Sanusi confirmed his injury on Instagram last week, stating, “Unfortunate to be out for another eight weeks after being out for five.”

Newcastle’s first team is uncertain about the fitness of several key players as they prepare for a critical pair of matches leading up to the March international break. Newcastle will play against West Ham United in the Premier League on Monday, March 10, before returning to London to face Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final on March 16.
