Newcastle United has disclosed its updated position regarding the acquisition of loan players in anticipation of the impending transfer deadline.

Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has unequivocally articulated his position regarding the acquisition of a player on loan during the remainder of the January transfer window.

The Magpies have found themselves restricted in terms of signing players in cash deals due to the strict PSR regulation book imposed on them.

However, Howe has indicated that considering the acquisition of loan agreements is neither a viable alternative nor a method for economising during the winter transfer window. Loan fees reaching as high as £8 million may be imposed on certain transactions, while the responsibility for covering the majority of wages is also a pertinent consideration.

Howe also suggested earlier this month that Premier League competitors are not inclined to assist Newcastle in any expedient manner. As the deadline day approaches, Howe was enquired about the possibility of acquiring players, potentially on loan from rival Premier League clubs.
