Newcastle United have initiated loan negotiations with a striker who cost £76.4 million and competed against them in the Champions League last season.Arsenal, Manchester United, and Newcastle United have all expressed interest in the French international.

According to reports, Newcastle United has initiated discussions with Paris Saint Germain regarding the potential of a January loan transfer for Randal Kolo Muani, a France centre forward who is currently out of favour.

The Magpies are currently seeking a striker this winter in order to offer Alexander Isak more competition, as there have been persistent concerns regarding Callum Wilson’s fitness.

Wilson, who has consistently scored goals for the Black and Whites, has not played since May as a result of a combination of back and hamstring ailments that have persisted since the pre-season.

The majority of the goal-scoring responsibilities have been placed on Isak, as the 32-year-old, who is in the final months of his contract, has only begun two games this calendar year.

Kolo Muani is a versatile player who can operate in any position on the pitch, but he is predominantly recognised as a number nine. After a blockbuster £76.4m agreement was struck with German side Eintracht Frankfurt, he arrived at PSG in September 2023 to great fanfare.

He had tallied 23 goals in all competitions the season before his arrival in Paris, and he had also played a key role for France in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

In his inaugural season in the capital, the 25-year-old forward scored 12 goals and provided four assists in 44 appearances.

However, he was frequently compelled to serve as a backup to either Kylian Mbappe or Goncalo Ramos. The French striker had anticipated that this would alter following Mbappe’s departure to Real Madrid and Ramos’ injury concerns.

However, he has only made 12 appearances and two starts across all competitions thus far this season, with Marcos Asensio frequently serving as a false nine.At present, his international status has not been affected by this, and he has started all of France’s last five Nations League games, scoring three goals in the process.

Kolo Muani has encountered difficulty in establishing himself as a critical component of Luis Enrique’s strategy and has been an unused substitute in each of his most recent two Ligue 1 matches. This has fuelled allegations from TBR Football that the striker may be amenable to a January transfer.

Newcastle United, along with Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Aston Villa, have contacted the player’s representatives.
