Newcastle United defender Sven Botman suffered a head injury during the Magpies’ thrilling 2-1 Premier League win over Fulham at St James’ Park.
Botman was substituted after a clash of heads midway through the second half, adding to Eddie Howe’s growing list of injury concerns.
Despite the setback, Newcastle found a way to secure all three points late on. Jacob Murphy fired the hosts ahead in the first half, only for Sasa Lukic to draw Fulham level shortly after the break.
But in the dying moments, Bruno Guimaraes pounced on a rebound from William Osula’s effort to grab a dramatic winner — his third goal of the season.
The result handed Newcastle a third consecutive home victory and a perfect response to their 2-1 loss at Brighton. Howe later described the victory as “the best way to win,” praising his side’s determination to see the game out.
With Tottenham visiting in the Carabao Cup midweek and a trip to West Ham to follow, the Magpies will hope Botman’s injury is not serious as their packed schedule continues.
