Newcastle United are reportedly planning to recall Jamie Miley from his loan stint at Newport County in order to trade him this month.

In the summer, the 20-year-old joined the League Two team; however, injuries have limited him to a mere eight appearances. He has emerged from the bench in the previous three matches, but his most recent start occurred in November.

Newcastle has the option to recall the midfielder this month. Pete O’Rourke reports that a number of League One and League Two clubs are monitoring his predicament, which could result in his permanent departure from St James’ Park.Miley, the older sibling of Lewis, enrolled in the Magpies’ academy in 2016.

He has participated in numerous friendlies for the first team and has advanced through the age divisions. The player was a member of Eddie Howe’s pre-season squad and travelled to both Germany and Tokyo before making his full St. James’ Park debut in a 4-0 victory over Girona of La Liga.

After the game, Howe stated, “It’s a lazy comparison, but it was a performance that was very Lewy Miley-esque. I mean that as a massive compliment, because he was very composed on the ball and very diligent off the ball. I thought he really helped us.”
