It was the Magpies’ last home game of the 2023–24 season, and they lost two points. This was a small setback in their quest to qualify for Europe. Newcastle is still in sixth place in the Premier League table, but they are now only one goal behind Chelsea, who is in seventh place.

As soon as the game was over, Guimaraes fell to the ground and looked very upset. The players’ sadness didn’t go away as they did a lap of honor and thanked the fans for their support.

At first, the Brazilian kept his distance from the rest of the group. He wasn’t one of the first players to head down the hallway or take part in the lap of honor like he usually does. People who were worried about Guimaraes saw his response and some wondered if it had anything to do with his future on Tyneside.

Bruno Guimaraes, a player for Newcastle United, looked upset after their 1-1 draw with Brighton & Hove Albion at St. James’ Park.

Bruno Guimaraes, a defender for Newcastle United, said he was “gutted” that their 1-1 draw with Brighton & Hove Albion at St. James’ Park on Saturday.

A lot of teams want to sign the 26-year-old player instead of Newcastle. His contract has a £100 million release option that can be used before the end of June.

But Guimaraes later wrote on Instagram about how upset he was with the draw against Brighton.

Guimaraes shared pictures of himself playing in the game with the words “Last game [at home this season!]” I’d like to thank you for your help this season.

“I’m so upset about the loss, but we still have two games to go to reach our goal of 39.”

When Guimaraes’s partner Ana and their two kids saw him on the field at St. James’ Park, he seemed to feel better. After his first match post, he added a picture of his family on the field. “And your happiness is all that matters in the end!” Guimaraes wrote. “Thank God for everything, my family”

Newcastle’s last two Premier League games are away at Manchester United and Brentford. They know that if they win all three games, they will automatically qualify for Europe. As it stands, Man United are just behind The Magpies in the table, and a loss at Old Trafford would kill their chances of making it to Europe.
