Newcastle United player ratings vs Tottenham Hotspur (4-0) as Isak, Anthony Gordon, Fabian Schär sealed their victory

With a 4-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur at St. James’ Park, Newcastle United moved up to sixth place in the Premier League table for now.

The Magpies won back-to-back Premier League games for the first time since December. Alexander Isak scored two goals, and Anthony Gordon and Fabian Schar also scored.

Newcastle played Ange Postecoglou’s team, who had won seven of their last nine games since the international break.

Eddie Howe changed two things about his starting eleven from last week’s 1-0 win at Fulham. Joe Willock was hurt, so Elliot Anderson came in for him, and Harvey Barnes came in for Lewis Hall, who was only able to make the bench because he was still having trouble with a quad injury.

That caused a change at the back. Jacob Murphy moved to right back, and Dan Burn moved back to left back. Emil Krafth and Fabian Schar made a new partnership at center back.

United got off to a good start, and Isak scored his 20th goal of the season in the 30th minute to break the tie. And, just like in last year’s 6-1 loss, the hosts scored quickly for the second when Gordon took advantage of Pedro Porro’s mistake.

Newcastle looked like they were in complete control and should have made their lead even bigger. Isak added a third goal in the 51st minute, and Schar scored with a header late in the game. They didn’t miss any chances, though.

1. Martin Dubravka (9 points)
Because he didn’t talk to Emil Krafth clearly, Spurs almost scored, but he looked pretty sure of himself the rest of the time.

2. Jacob Murphy, age 8
Even though the position changed a little, they moved forward very well. joined forces with Anthony Gordon to cause trouble on the right side.

Third, Emil Krafth gets 7.5
They were given the runaround in the beginning, and a moment of doubt also let Spurs in. But put in a good shift overall.

4. 8.5 for Fabian Schar
A great defensive performance was capped off by a brilliant headed goal in the last few minutes.

5. Eighth Dan Burn

6. Eight(8) Bruno Guimaraes.
Had a slow start to the game, but his skill soon showed. Was very important to both of Isak’s goals.

7. 7.5 for Sean Longstaff
Longstaff is the Newcastle player who has been criticized the most, but he did most of the work against Spurs.

8. 8.5 for Elliot Anderson
What was his best game for Newcastle? Anderson did a lot for Newcastle. A wild animal. Was rough and mean in the middle of the field and a threat in the final third.

9. Anthony Gordon – 9.5
Gordon scored a goal and set up two others, but his game was more than that. They made a huge move down the right side, both to defend and to attack.

10. Harvey Barnes (8 points)
A lively first half, and Barnes slowed down after the break, but he did get into some good situations.

11. Alexander Isak – Score 9
More proof that Newcastle has a world-class player on their hands. With these two cold finishes, he now has 21 goals for the season. They could have scored more.
