Newcastle United’s prospects of acquiring Manchester United player Marcus Rashford in January

In January, Newcastle intends to recruit a goalkeeper, winger, and striker. Rashford would satisfy these requirements.

Alexander Isak has been in exceptional form thus far this season; however, there is a dearth of quality players to serve as his successor.

is struggling to break into the starting XI due to Isak’s form and suffered another injury setback – there is space for Rashford to make an impact at Newcastle should he join.

The 27-year-old can also play on the wing, meaning there would be more depth on the right side of attack. Miguel Almiron could leave in January so there will be a vacant spot on Newcastle’s first-team squad for Rashford to slot on.

Marcus Rashford is unlikely to exceed Newcastle’s FFP budget. Recent reports have indicated that Rashford would cost Newcastle approximately £40 million in January, which is less than the sums of Johan Bakayoko and Bryan Mbeumo, who have been associated with Tyneside in recent weeks.

Nevertheless, Mark Douglas of the i believes that Newcastle will not allocate a significant portion of their budget to the acquisition of Rashford. The report also implies that Arsenal is interested in the 27-year-old, but they are of the same opinion.

Rashford made his first appearance in Man United’s squad since early December; however, he was not utilized by Red Devils manager Ruben Amorim, as they were defeated 2-0 by the Magpies.

Douglas is of the opinion that a domestic transfer for Rashford is significantly more challenging due to the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules. Although Rashford is enthusiastic about remaining in Europe, he may choose to relocate to the Saudi Pro League.

Sporting director Paul Mitchell is more interested in recruiting younger prospects from overseas to save money and potentially generate a profit in the future, so Newcastle will maintain their priorities elsewhere.

Newcastle continues to grapple with the issue of PSR. Even after Newcastle sold Elliot Anderson and Yankuba Minteh in the summer, the club was only marginally ahead of PSR.

The Magpies were able to avoid a points deduction through the transactions; however, it is anticipated that Newcastle will once again need to sell before they can purchase.

In order to finance the acquisition of new players, there are numerous players who could depart the club in January. Sean Longstaff’s departure is imminent, despite the fact that he has signed a contract extension.

Martin Dubravka, who has maintained four consecutive clean sheets in the Premier League since replacing the injured Nick Pope, may also depart the Saudi Pro League in January.

In other news, Wolves expressed interest in Jamaal Lascelles earlier this season; however, he has not yet recovered from an ACL injury sustained in March, rendering it unlikely that he would be transferred in January.

Mitchell must address the outgoings to guarantee that there are inbound players, despite the desire of fans for the upcoming window to be active.
