Newcastle United’s star player has been declared ineligible until 2025 following a new injury update in the “next few weeks.” Jamaal Lascelles, the
Newcastle United defender, has disclosed an update regarding his recuperation from a chronic knee injury. Back in March, Lascelles sustained an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury and was assigned a six- to nine-month anticipated return date. Sven Botman, a fellow Newcastle defender, sustained the same injury at the same time and is anticipated to return to action before the New Year. However, Lascelles is believed to be slightly behind the Dutchman in his rehabilitation, with an expected return date in early 2025. The 30-year-old also addressed his rehabilitation process in his ‘Leadership Group’ column in the Newcastle matchday programme. Lascelles stated, “I have overcome the most severe phase of my recovery from my ACL injury.” “I anticipate returning to the grass and jogging within the next few weeks.” by TaboolaSponsored Links
“It will require some time to progress from there, but I am content with the fact that I have accomplished those objectives. Currently, my focus is on regaining my footing and making progress at a moderate pace.”Clearly, it is challenging, both mentally and physically. However, I am fortunate in that I derive pleasure from exercising and visiting the gym. I enjoy spending half of my day in that location. It would likely be significantly more challenging for other players who do not, but I find the challenge to be quite enjoyable. I set weekly and monthly objectives, achieve them, and then move on to the next one. Despite the fact that I am not on the field, I still strive to contribute to the group. It is wonderful to be in the gym together, and the guys have been incredibly supportive and fantastic. Throughout their respective recovery procedures, Botman and Lascelles have continued to attend matches at St James’ Park. “Sven Botman and I have developed an extremely close relationship, and we both agree that attending the games is quite challenging,” Lascelles said. “I will always be in the dressing room to support the boys. However, when you are injured for an extended period, like we were, it can be difficult to watch because you want to be out there, playing in front of the fans and fighting for your teammates.” “However, it is a sport, and it occurs. I am confident that I will emerge from the experience much stronger.” We have initiated the season successfully; therefore, it is imperative that we maintain a balance between optimism and pessimism. We must continue to train diligently and maintain faith in the process.
