Newcastle United’s subsequent opponents, West Ham United, are taken aback by the unexpected departure of Dan Ashworth.

West Ham is purportedly considering the appointment of Dan Ashworth as the club’s new technical director, succeeding Tim Steidten.

Ash worth presently unemployed in the football industry due to his departure from Manchester United last year. In the midst of Newcastle United’s interest in his services, the former technical director of the FA spent months on gardening leave.

The institutions ultimately reached an agreement on a £4m compensation package, with Ashworth relocating from St James’ Park to Old Trafford to assist in the establishment of the new footballing department under Sir Jim Ratcliffe. Nevertheless, Ashworth’s tenure at the club was limited, lasting only five months before his departure in December.

The Red Devils issued a brief statement to confirm his departure: Ashworth has been associated with a variety of positions since departing Manchester United, including a position at Arsenal that became available after Edu Gaspar joined Evangalos Marinakis’ footballing enterprise in November.

Nevertheless, recent reports have suggested that a return to the Premier League may be imminent, as the FA’s erstwhile technical director is currently absent from the game. The Hammers are reportedly in the process of finalising a deal to bring Ashworth to the London Stadium, as per a report from Football Insider.

They assert that the Hammers may have an advantage in the competition for Ashworth’s signature due to the fact that he collaborated with Graham Potter during his tenure at Brighton. Following Potter’s appointment as manager in January, West Ham announced that technical director Tim Steidten would depart the organisation.

The former Chelsea and Brighton employee will bring his own recruitment staff to the capital. Steidten separated from the London Stadium prior to the conclusion of his two-year tenure. Before joining West Ham, the 45-year-old had held positions at Werder Bremen and Bayer Leverkusen.

Meanwhile, Newcastle United has been devastated by the news that Lewis Hall will not be able to return to the pitch this season due to a foot injury he sustained during a match against Liverpool last month. Therefore, Hall will be unable to attend the Carabao Cup final six days later and the excursion to the London Stadium, both of which Anthony Gordon will be unable to attend due to his suspension.

The ACL injury that Jamaal Lascelles sustained against West Ham in March has kept him inactive, and it appears that Sven Botman will also be unable to play due to a knee injury. After limping off against Arsenal on February 5, the Dutchman has not appeared for more than a month.
