Newcastle United’s transfer negotiations have been officially acknowledged, as the owner has stated, “We are currently engaged in discussions.”

Ilicali, the Vice President of Fenerbahce and proprietor of Hull City, has officially announced that negotiations regarding the transfer of Lloyd Kelly have commenced between the Turkish club and Newcastle United for the upcoming winter transfer window.

The prominent Turkish club, currently under the management of Jose Mourinho, has resolved to pursue the acquisition of the centre-back following a sluggish commencement to his tenure at St James’ Park.

In the summer, Kelly was acquired from Bournemouth, thereby reuniting with Eddie Howe, who had previously brought him to the South Coast from Bristol City in 2019.Having initially commenced his tenure with the Magpies, the 26-year-old subsequently found himself on the sideline for seven consecutive Premier League matches, remaining an unused substitute in each of those encounters.

He participated in the entirety of the 90 minutes against Bromley in the FA Cup on Sunday; however, speculation has been mounting concerning his potential departure from the club.It remains unclear whether Fenerbahce is pursuing a loan arrangement or a permanent transfer.

However, given that Kelly has a contractual obligation that extends until the summer of 2029, a permanent transfer may not be practicable. As reported by The Telegraph, Newcastle United has declined an initial proposal from Fenerbahce for the acquisition of Kelly. It is believed that their offer was significantly lower than what the North East club had anticipated.
