Norwich City strike swift deal for new signing as player set for Saturday medical

Norwich City are pushing to strengthen Philippe Clement’s attacking options this winter and have been exploring several forward targets.

Earlier in the window, Danish reports claimed the Canaries submitted an offer for Bodø/Glimt striker Kasper Høgh, only for manager Kjetil Knutsen to quickly dismiss the possibility of a January exit.

Attention has now shifted elsewhere in Denmark, with Randers FC forward Mohamed Touré emerging as a late option for the Championship side.

Reports from Bold on Friday stated Norwich had opened talks with Randers over a potential deal for the striker. Tipsbladet have since added that negotiations have advanced significantly, with Norwich City now reaching an agreement with the Danish club to sign the Australia international.

The transfer fee is expected to rise to €4 million including bonuses, a figure described as almost a record sale for Randers. Their current record stands at €4m, received from Tammer Bany’s move to West Bromwich Albion last year.

Further indication that the deal is close came on Friday when Randers lost 1–0 to Rosenborg in a friendly, with the 21-year-old left out of the squad due to the agreement with Norwich.

According to the Danish outlet, both clubs have moved quickly to finalise the operation, with Touré travelling to England on Saturday.

He is set to undergo medical tests before putting pen to paper on his contract. Details of his personal terms have not been disclosed, but the move is expected to be completed without delay.

Touré joined Randers from Stade de Reims in July 2024 and has registered 12 goals and nine assists in 49 appearances, including four goals and five assists this season.
