Stuart Kettlewell, the manager of Kilmarnock, was incensed by the late penalty awarded to Celtic at Rugby Park.
Kilmarnock was defeated by Celtic in a dramatic finale, with the scores level at 1-1 with mere seconds remaining.
David Watson must have believed that he had secured a point after his powerful strike in the 82nd minute brought Kilmarnock level with Celtic, as Daizen Maeda opened the scoring ten minutes into the second half.
But in the 96th minute, Kelechi Iheanacho stepped up to coolly fire home a penalty kick after a handball was awarded, sending Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers back to Glasgow happy.
However, Kilmarnock’s manager, Kettlewell, was incensed, and Celtic supporters will find it difficult to refute his assertions after hearing the SFA’s instructions during a preseason meeting.
Stuart Kettlewell, the manager of Kilmarnock, discussed the information he received during an SFA meeting regarding handballs.
Kettlewell was visibly enraged as he explained to Sky Sports during the post-match interview why he had such a problem with the penalty that Celtic was awarded this afternoon.
Kettlewell stated to Sky Sports Scotland, “This is the point at which I will endeavor to be as accurate as possible.” We will all engage in a discussion and debate about it.
“I have conversed with a few individuals both within and outside of the organization, and they are in awe that it is sanctioned as a penalty.”

“I have conversed with a few individuals both within and outside of the organization, and they are in awe that it is sanctioned as a penalty.”
Kettlewell continued, “This is the point at which I feel like I am a black-and-white individual, and I will adhere to the information I am given, and I believe the players will do the same.”
“However, if we are informed of this at the outset of the season, is it inaccurate or has it been altered?” Or are we viewing it differently once we reach the VAR screen?
“You are dispatched to that location and witness that type of incident.” Subsequently, I am not asserting that the decision is correct or incorrect. I am stating that it differs from the information that was provided to me and the participants.
“My objective is to provide them with the facts, not to express my agreement or disagreement.” I disagree with the information that was conveyed to me during the preseason meeting with the officials.
“And based on the conversation in that room and my own thoughts, we will not impose penalties for that type of situation.” I am now beginning to doubt the information we received at the beginning of the season if that is not the case.
The penalty award appeared to be somewhat harsh, and there would have been a significant number of supporters who would have objected if it had been given to Celtic.
Next up for Celtic is a home game against Hibs for the first game since the infamous battle with board began.
Although three points will be the primary objective, there is a high probability that the Celtic board will be the subject of another demonstration.
