Pat Bonner reveals the absence of Anthony Ralston and Yang Hyun-Jun during Celtic’s match against Motherwell.

Celtic earned three points on Boxing Day, and Anthony Ralston was once again included in the starting lineup.

However, Pat Bonner observed that Ralston rarely launched himself forward when partnering Yang on the right-hand side during the first half, as he stated in an interview with BBC Radio Scotland.

 

Yang was replaced after the hour mark, and unsurprisingly, it was Ralston who was in the attacking positions, assisting Kuhn in scoring his goal.

 

 

“That is the aspect of the relationship with Tony Ralston and Yang on the right-hand side that we did not discuss at halftime,” Bonner stated. “I cannot recall Tony Ralston frequently occupying the forward positions in the first half, as Johnston would do with his partner Kuhn.

 

 

“You do synthesise with him slightly, but it does not help matters that, for significant portions of the last two matches, he has rarely had Kuhn ahead of him.
