Paul Mitchell, an England international, is gearing up for a busy summer. In what appears to be a crucial summer transfer window, the Magpies are now in a position to spend more liberally. Thanks to their Carabao Cup victory, Newcastle United will participate in Europe next season. Eddie Howe’s team is undoubtedly in the UEFA Europa
Conference League, but they have the potential to qualify for the Champions League if they perform well in the Premier League. In January, Newcastle sold Miguel Almiron to Atlanta and are anticipated to receive a substantial transfer fee for Lloyd Kelly if Juventus qualify for Europe. This will provide them with additional flexibility in the transfer market. This summer, Newcastle’s sporting director, Paul
Mitchell, will be occupied with the task of balancing player sales, contract renewals, and potential arrivals to guarantee that Howe has the most advantageous options for the upcoming season. Newcastle is prioritising the acquisition of a right winger in the summer, as the club was left with only Jacob Murphy as a natural right-wing option following Almiron’s departure. Given his age, the 30-year-old will not be a viable long-term option in that role,
despite his impressive performance this season. The Magpies have been linked to a potential transfer for an England international who has displayed an electrifying presence at times this season, as Newcastle’s transfer priorities are well-defined. Newcastle United is considering a transfer for Noni Madueke. Noni Madueke, the winger for Chelsea, has been inconsistent this season, as he has appeared
to be unable to establish a consistent position in the club’s extensive roster. The 23-year-old is presently unavailable due to a hamstring injury; however, he had previously participated in 23 Premier League matches, contributing seven goals and three assists. Newcastle’s pursuit of Madueke in 2024 was unsuccessful, as the Magpies continued to grapple with PSR.
Newcastle has identified Madueke as a potential candidate to address the right wing vacancy, as reported by GiveMeSport. However, the purchase will not be inexpensive. Newcastle should be able to afford the £60m price tag for Madueke in the summer, according to reports from 2024. However, Newcastle would not want to pay this price given the number of younger players they could acquire for that money.
Mitchell is interested in signing young players at Newcastle this summer, with the expectation that Howe will be able to assist in their development, as he has done for numerous other prospects on Tyneside. Madueke, an England international, continues to satisfy the criteria; however, his reported asking price may prove to be an obstacle.
