The Etihad Stadium has also undergone changes off the field. In anticipation of Man City’s inaugural match at the Club World Cup, the legendary coach has identified the individual who is “inspiring”
him for the upcoming season. Manchester City is being motivated by Pep Lijnders. Pep Lijnders, a Dutch coach with extensive experience in the Premier League, was recruited by Guardiola to join his coaching staff at Manchester City this summer. Lijnders previously collaborated with Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool throughout his career.
During his press conference prior to City’s match against Wydad AC, Guardiola acknowledged that the newcomer is “inspiring” him and all members of the Manchester club. He also expressed his “extreme satisfaction” with the former Liverpool coach’s performance thus far.”We conversed with Jurgen Klopp, but we did not discuss Pep Lijnders.” Guardiola stated, “It was, as always, a lengthy conversation.
At one point, I mentioned that I was contemplating Pep, and he provided me with his opinion, which was, of course, extremely high. He was his right-hand man during one of Liverpool’s most successful periods.” “After I had the opportunity to contemplate my options.” I was not in direct communication with Pep, as he was in Salzburg and his most recent experience was in Liverpool, which was many years ago.

In the absence of Guardiola, they may have amassed additional medals.
For the first time since his arrival at the Etihad Stadium in 2016, Guardiola was questioned by both pundits and fans last season. However, it is evident that the legendary coach has been making strides to disprove them throughout the 2025/26 campaign.
