Pep Guardiola responds to Kevin De Bruyne’s comment regarding the reversal of Man City’s contract. Pep Guardiola acknowledged that Kevin De Bruyne will have faced challenges over the past month and has informed his departing talisman that he has no obligation to prove himself to
Manchester City. However, the City chief stated that there will be no significant change in the club’s decision to decline to extend a new contract to the Belgian. In City’s victory over Wolves on Friday, De Bruyne scored the sole goal of the match by converting a Jeremy Doku cutback in the first half.
He was serenaded by City supporters as he took every set piece and received a standing ovation when he was replaced late in the game. After the game, he stated to Sky Sports, “I am aware that I only have one home game remaining, but I am simply trying to fulfill my responsibilities, and that is exactly what I did today.”
There are numerous teammates who have expressed their regret that I must accompany them; however, this is the nature of existence. I am uncertain about the future, but I am confident that I can continue to contribute to this team. Guardiola’s response to those remarks was that De Bruyne does not need to make any point with his performances as his tenure at City concludes. Guardiola stated,
“I am certain that it is challenging for him, but his contribution has been significant and significant.” “He is not required to demonstrate anything; I am aware of his quality and proficiency.” That concludes the matter.Guardiola declined to answer the inquiry regarding De Bruyne’s longevity at City, stating, “I am committed to Kevin’s well-being, and it is impossible to have achieved this much in his absence.”
He has been an exceptional player; however, the circumstances are as they are. It is nearly impossible to replace a player of this caliber. This is not solely about his performance; it is also about the sentiment that he has evoked in the hearts of our admirers over the course of many years. To the players, we owe our achievement.
