Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, has broken his reticence regarding the appointment of
Ruben Amorim as the new manager of Manchester United.Ruben Amorim, the new manager of Manchester United, will not receive any guidance from Pep Guardiola when Manchester City visit Sporting next week. United officially announced Amorim’s appointment on Friday. The Sporting manager will assume responsibility for the team on November 11, following the completion of his notice period in Portugal. He will be responsible for three additional matches at the Jose Alvalade Stadium before his departure, one of which is a Champions League match against City on Tuesday. That will be his penultimate home game in charge. Amorim was praised last week following the announcement that he was the primary target of United. Additionally, the Blues have appointed Amorim’s close colleague Hugo Viana as their new Sporting Director, which is another City connection. This had resulted in suggestions that City may be interested in Amorim for their next managerial appointment; however, these reports were inaccurate.
Rather, Amorim will endeavour to replicate the failure of five managers to transform United into a formidable force during Guardiola’s tenure. On December 15, City will play host to United in one of Amorim’s inaugural significant matches as manager. Additionally, Guardiola extended his warmest regards to United and England on Friday, stating, “Welcome to England.” I extend my congratulations to him; we will converse on the following Tuesday. I am not the appropriate individual to provide guidance to my colleagues. There are numerous individuals at United who are capable of providing information regarding the company’s operations.Guardiola emphasised Amorim’s qualifications last week, citing City’s 5-0 victory over Sporting in 2021 on numerous occasions since their most recent visit to Lisbon. Guardiola has consistently maintained that the outcome was flattering to City, who were merciless that day.He stated, “The pressure was extremely high when I played against Ruben’s Sporting Lisbon team twice one or two seasons ago.” “Therefore, a senior manager.” I have heard that Manchester United is considering him, and it is due to his exceptional managerial abilities. Man United does not employ managers who are not of the same calibre. Therefore, it is inaccurate to assert that, over the past five, six, or seven years, they have been incapable of leading the club.
What is expected to transpire? I am uncertain, as the outcome of my experience here does not necessarily imply that it will be applicable to others. The manager is the team, the club, the structures, the physios, the physicians, the players, and everyone is everyone. It is a complex entity. The events that transpired in this location do not necessarily indicate that they will occur in another location.
