What’s new with Manchester City? A big report from Spain about Florian Wirtz’s future has come to light.

It looks like Real Madrid has moved ahead of Manchester City in the race to sign Florian Wirtz, with a £127 million deal set to happen in the summer of 2025.

People from all over Europe want to sign German talent Wirtz because he was one of the young stars of Bayer Leverkusen’s unbeatable Bundesliga title-winning season and is now yelling for Euro 2024 success on home land. City has been mentioned as a possible destination by a number of sites, but the most recent news is not good for the Blues.

Marca says that there are two deals in place that make it possible for the 21-year-old to move from the BayArena to the Santiago Bernabeu in a year, not the Etihad Stadium.

The first agreement is between the man, his agents, and Leverkusen, the team he plays for now. This is to make sure he stays with the German winners until the end of the 2024–25 season.

The second is also an informal deal with Real Madrid. Personal terms have been agreed upon so that the move to Spain can happen in 2025. They say that Florentino Perez, the manager of Real Madrid, will not care about money because the deal could be worth as much as €150m (£127m).

This comes after a report in Germany about Real Madrid’s interest, which said that both the playmaker and boss Xabi Alonso are being lined up to move to the defending Champions League winners in the same summer. Alonso was strongly linked with the Liverpool job after Jurgen Klopp said he was stepping down. He has also been mentioned as a possible replacement for Pep Guardiola at City.

Guardiola has one year left on his deal, and he has made it clear that he wants to leave the club next summer, when it ends.

The first foreign tournament Wirtz will play in is in his home country right now. Germany’s first game is against Scotland, and then they play Hungary and Switzerland to finish out Group A.

A lot of people think that the player could replace Kevin De Bruyne. He is 32 years old and has one year left on his contract. He has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia.

Following his recovery from an ACL surgery before the season began, Wirtz has had a breakout year, scoring 10 goals and setting up 10 others. Reports say Wirtz doesn’t want to leave the Bundesliga club until at least 2025. That would be a great time for City to make their move, unless Madrid does it first.
