๐๏ธ Coventry City Player Ratings as Sky Blues Blow Away Watford to Extend Unbeaten Run
Coventry City maintained their blistering start to the season with a commanding 3โ1 win over Watford at the CBS Arena, tightening their grip at the top of the Championship table.
Frank Lampardโs men came flying out of the blocks, racing into a two-goal lead inside the opening seven minutes. Brandon Thomas-Asante opened the scoring with a well-taken header from a pinpoint Tatsuhiro Sakamoto cross, before Jamie Allen drilled home the second after a long throw was only half-cleared.
The Sky Blues looked unstoppable in the first half, with Haji Wright seeing a goal ruled out for offside before Sakamoto made it 3โ0 before the break โ calmly controlling a loose ball and firing through a defenderโs legs from the edge of the D.
Watfordโs misery deepened when defender James Abankwah was shown a straight red card for a last-man challenge on Wright just before half-time. The visitors did pull one back through Imran Louzaโs penalty after Liam Kitching fouled Vivaldo Semedo, but Coventry remained firmly in control to claim a sixth straight win and stretch their unbeaten run to 12 matches.
