Player to miss the match, Injury Report, Team news: Manchester United vs Arsenal

Erik ten Hag’s choice of Manchester United players to play Arsenal this weekend raises a lot of questions.

Bruno Fernandes missed the embarrassing loss at Crystal Palace last time out because he was hurt. He is one of many players who are struggling to be ready for Sunday’s game against the Premier League leaders at Old Trafford.

Ten Hag said that the club leader was “fighting” to play on the trip to Selhurst Park. He would lose the battle, but the manager’s tone made it sound like he was likely to come back to play Arsenal.

Also, Scott McTominay was going to return to training before the Palace game after a short-term problem. Once he was sure he was healthy, he would be ready to go right back into the starting lineup.

There was a statement from the club on Thursday that said Lisandro Martinez and Marcus Rashford would be back in training, but neither player was named.

United needs more outfielders because Sofyan Amrabat was the only senior player on the bench in the loss to Palace. Although both the Moroccan and Amad Diallo are out of form, it looks like the boss doesn’t trust them to start games right now.

Friday before the game, Ten Hag will give fans an update, but there hasn’t been much to suggest that many of United’s absentees will be fit.

Luke Shaw and Anthony Martial were expected to start training with Martinez again, but they won’t be for a while. Ten Hag may have to be patient with them because he doesn’t have many choices at the back. Harry Maguire was recently ruled out because of a muscle problem in his leg. Victor Lindelof, Raphael Varane, and Willy Kambwala have also not yet taken part in team workouts.

Because of their problems, there is a huge hole in the defense that is being covered by Jonny Evans and Casemiro. These two players may have to work hard against Arsenal unless Amrabat is brought in or Martinez is ready.

Ten Hag recently said that Rashford’s healing from an injury he got in the FA Cup semi-final was not going well, but it looks like he will be back soon.

Predicted Man Utd Lineup: Andre Onana; Dalot, Martinez, Evans, Wan-Bissaka; Casemiro, Mainoo; Garnacho, Bruno Fernandes, Marcus  Rashford; Rasmus Hojlund

Doubts to paly: Burno Fernandes, Scott McTominay, Marcus Rashford, Martinez

Latest Injuries report: Malacia, Maguire, Luke Shaw, Martial, Varane, Lindelof, Kambwala
